Despite what you may have read here in the past few days, we are having an August meeting; I was just testing to see whether or not anyone actually reads the web site!  Thanks for paying attention.

The August meeting will be held at the South Euclid Community Center on Monday, August 16th.  Eric Sauer, owner and operator of River Valley Orchids in Centerville, Ohio will be our guest speaker.  River Valley Orchids specializes in primarily New World orchid species from Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru.  Favorites are Phragmipedium, Maxillaria, Brassia, Scaphasepalum, Stanhopea, and the Pleurothallis group.  Plan to attend this special program at 7:00pm.  Eric will have plants for sale.

Our summer picnic was the best in years.  As usual, good food was the prelude to an unusually successful plant auction.  Knowledgeable bidders outbid each other for high-quality plants auctioned by Edgar Stehli.  Our treasury grossed about $1.000.00 from the auction.
